- Caption: Boston College, October 30, 2007 - Dr. Peggy McIntosh, author of the widely read "White Privilege: Unpacking the Invisible Knapsack," spoke to a packed McGuinn 121 about the topic of latent institutionalized racism and white privilege. Many members attended because their classes required it. Others came because they were interested. As McIntosh explained, she believes she has a duty to teach other white people about the issues because most are not aware of how they benefit from an unjust power structure, oppressing people of color, despite claims of "colorblindness."
